Meet Your Instructor
Hilary was born and raised in Ocala, FL, where she grew up as a member of the United States Pony Clubs, an avid Three Day Eventer, and then a member of the FSU Dressage Team in college. While living in WNC she had the opportunity to work for the Biltmore Estate as one of their Lessons Instructors for their large-scale, private boarding facility. in 2021 she started her own lesson program at her farm in Williston, FL where she has focused on teaching foundational horsemanship and how that carries into all disciplines of riding. Hilary enjoys teaching students of all ages and riding abilities as well as helping riders to develop tools to problem solve while with their horse. She is passionate about furthering her riding endeavors, starting young horses and helping her community. If you’re looking for a quiet yet structured equestrian learning atmosphere for you or your child, we would love to meet you!

We are still developing our new property in Mountain Rest to accommodate students but if you have the appropriate riding space at your own facility, Hilary can travel to you Within 30 minutes.
In the Future: Specializing in beginning lessons for children and adults to establish a solid foundation in horsemanship and riding skills. Use one of our lovely schooling horses or bring your own! Intermediate riders and their horses are welcome as well. Hilary is willing to travel for lessons outside of the Lakey Farm.
Short-term, training board available horses to be started under saddle, or horses (and riders) in need of touch-up on the foundational basics.

The Farm
We moved to our wonderful new property at the end of April 2024 and are currently still in the stages of preparing and building our farm to accommodate horses.
